How was Media Logic able to give Amazon
a fresh take on co-brand conversion?


Amazon is the world's foremost e-commerce innovator, but being the best means realizing there's always room for improvement. No matter who you are, if you’re selling a co-brand card on your website, it’s time to map out a plan to ratchet up response.

When Media Logic was asked to help Amazon better promote its co-brand credit card, we started by looking at current online acquisition efforts as well as retail peers and competing offers appearing on Amazon.com.

Following our extensive review process, we generated key observations, insight and analysis of Amazon’s acquisition efforts. For example:

  • Amazon Visa Card banners needed stronger messaging to overcome an already saturated digital ecosystem

  • Banner ads were almost singularly focused on the offer, neglecting the strength of the full value proposition

  • Multiple creative executions all drove to the same landing page – as a result, banner content wasn’t paid off

  • Banners and landing pages weren’t strongly expressing the Amazon brand

Once you’ve turned over every rock, it’s time to put things back together. Media Logic made several recommendations to help Amazon better promote their co-brand product, including:

  • Infuse product identity to create demand and own points of differentiation

  • Improve messaging, elevating the value proposition, integrating unbiased customer sentiment, and strengthening CTAs

  • Align banner ads with landing pages and enhance application page to ‘close the sale’

  • Integrate rich media and use prospect data to help optimize placement

Better insight yields stronger creative. We presented Amazon with a variety of creative executions that showed how they could improve the co-brand card positioning (rationally and emotionally) while optimizing the card’s presence on Amazon.com.  These executions were put into their creative pipeline, providing a fresh perspective for their ongoing test-and-learn process.
